Hot Fun in the Summertime!

Trust us when we tell you we wouldn't interrupt your summer if we didn't think it was worth it. WE DO! And here we are with our Summer Show '08!

We have reconvened in Shredder's basement on one of the hottest days of the year to mull over all that has come to pass with the Sens. A new coach, some old faces on the way out, some new faces on their way in and if we are to believe Murray, there will be more changes to come.

Now, a lot has been said about Murray's performance as GM since the end of the season and we seem to be split over how he's done. Some of us think he's been sitting on his hands and a rather tight wallet while others think he's one of the few GMs that hasn't completely lost their mind (see Glen Sather). It appears he feels a new coach and a clean house is as good as a pricey free agent. As you can imagine, we hash it out.

Jason Smith was nice enough to sign today to help us out with the show content. His and the other signings are front and center along with the departures of Redden, Emery, Grats and some other potential moves.

Stooli can't seem to make up his mind on who his new whipping boy will be but Auld and Spezza seem to be running neck and neck early. Not sure what poor Alex did to deserve this early abuse but he'll get used to it. With Redden gone, Russell has not yet picked his and Shredder is pretty set on Spezza.

The second half of the show gets silly and rumour mongering takes over. Hey, we've been pretty good about that over the years so we can indulge once in awhile.

And finally, we announce the first ever, potential, maybe, kinda, Sens Underground Golf Day. If you're in the Ottawa area and you think that golf, beer, wings and Sens talk sound like a good idea, drop us a line or check out the post in the forums. If we get enough interest, we can look into making this happen. We would love to meet you folks and we know it would be a great time.
